The Daintree Rainforest contains 430 recorded species of birdlife. 9 of the 10 kingfisher species are found in the Daintree region, including Buff-breasted paradise kingfishers and Azure kingfishers. Other bird species include the Yellow Oriole, Great Billed Heron, Cassowary and Black Bittern.
